Update on Communions 2020

​I hope that you are keeping well in these challenging times.
 
Understandably, parishes and schools have contacted this office recently seeking an update on the current situation in regard to forthcoming First Communion ceremonies.
 
In response, Bishop Fintan has written a short letter to families, as well as the First Holy Communion Children, which you will find attached to this post. As you can see it gently lets each family know that First Communion ceremonies will be arranged when it is safe to do so and in line with Government advice and H.S.E. guidance.
 
You will also see a link to the Cork and Ross Diocesan website to assist families and schools to continue children’s faith formation at this time.
 
This letter clearly applies only to schools where Communion ceremonies are scheduled to take place in 2020.
