The 6th class were busy today making pancakes for all the students in the school! Praise all round for the quality of pancakes made. All this couldn't happen without the help and guidance of Ms. O'Mahony and Ms. Crowley.
The lunch time soccer leagues concluded recently. In a tightly contested competition the blue team came out eventual champions against the green team in the final. Well done to all the students who ran the competition so well which included the making of the draws, refereeing and recording results.
We had a fantastic evening in Skibbereen Community School this month for the 2020 Credit Union Schools Quiz. We had a team in the U11's and U13's competition , with both teams performing extremely well on the night!
The Victorious Clann na nGael U14 football team visited our school recently. We were delighted to have them show the pupils their trophy collection after winning the league, West Cork and County Championships in 2019. Thanks to their mentors for bringing them in and a special well done to past pupils Eoin Hurley and Jack Connolly who were part of the panel. Six plucky candidates from Mr. Hayes room were debating their manifesto's today to win over voters from 6th class right down to 2nd class. Like most elections, there were plenty promises; new soccer balls, astro turf school yard, new classroom tables to name but a few. Will they be able to keep these promises? The student body had their say with the voting process and learnt about 'proportional representation by the single transferable vote' voting system.
