Dear Parents and Children,
I hope you all had a good week and you managed well with the school work. I really enjoyed receiving your completed activities via Seesaw. The work for this week follows the same structure as last week, as always only complete as much of it as you can.
I will be putting some additional activities on Seesaw during the week. These are only to support the work being covered in the books so don’t feel under pressure to complete them. If any of the children would like additional activities or support with any of their school work please contact me by emailing [email protected].
I look forward to hearing from you during the week and seeing your wonderful work, keep up all the hard work!
Kind regards and safe wishes,
Ann Marie Daly

15th of June 2020 - 19th of June 2020
Dear Parents and Children,
I hope you are all well after the week. As this would have been our last week at school I have not assigned as much work as other weeks and I have included a few more active activities. I have also attached a list of wellness activities for the week that the children might like to try out.
On Saturday, June 20th we are collecting books at the school between 10.30 and 12.30, I think some of my class may have paired reading books; it would be great if you could drop them in.
As the school year comes to a close I would like to thank you for all your hard work and continuing dedication to your child’s education in such challenging circumstances. We will hopefully be back to more normal school times in September.
I hope you all enjoy a well deserved break from the books over the summer holidays.
Kind regards, continued safe wishes and happy holidays,
Ann Marie Daly

8th of June 2020 - 12th of June 2020
Dear Parents and Children,
I hope you are all well after the week and were able to make the most of the lovely weather. As we are nearing the summer holidays I’m sure the children are getting less motivated to do their school work. At this time of year we would be winding down at school too so please don’t be under pressure to complete all the activities, a little reading and writing each day would be great.
I’ve included an assessment or two this week. The children if possible should complete these independently; they shouldn’t take more than half an hour. Perhaps you could look over it with them or alternatively email it on to [email protected].
If you have any questions or would like any additional support please don’t hesitate to send an email.
Kind regards and continued safe wishes,
Ann Marie Daly

2nd of June 2020 - 5th of June 2020
Dear Parents and Children,
I hope you are all well after the week and have been enjoying the wonderful weather. I’ve not assigned any work for Monday as it is a bank holiday. As we are heading into June, some of the work given this week is revision. It would be very helpful if the children could complete any small assessments given and if these could be kept in a folder for safekeeping until September. Alternatively these could be emailed on to the teacher’s email.
As this week’s weather forecast looks to be a lovely one and getting through the written work indoors may be challenging, I’ve included a nature diary that the children might like to complete each day. It might just be something small they could concentrate on daily while enjoying the outdoors.
As always the work given for the week is just a guide. If you have any questions or would like any additional support please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected].
I hope you can all make the most of the long sunny days.
Kind regards and continued safe wishes,
Ann Marie Daly

18th of May 2020 - 22nd of May 2020
Parents and Children,
I hope you are safe and well after the week. As motivation to complete school work lessens and we are having such lovely weather it is understandable if the children are not completing as much as they did in previous weeks. As always this week’s work is just a guide, please only complete as much as you can. Keep encouraging the children to read and write, preferably something of interest to them each day. If at all possible try to incorporate reading, writing, maths into the practical tasks the children are doing at home.
Each week I include quite a number of attachments, please don’t feel the need to print all of these, children could look at them for guidance and complete the work in their copies as printers and ink supplies might be under pressure.
If anyone would like any additional work or support in any area please don’t hesitate to contact me at the email [email protected]. I am also very happy to have a look over any work you have completed and give some feedback. It would be nice to keep the school community connected so any photos of activities/artwork/projects you have been keeping busy with can be sent to the email address above.
Kind regards and continued safe wishes,
Ann Marie Daly

Dear Parents,
I hope you are all safe and well and enjoying the sunny weather when it appears. I’m sure the children are finding it hard to settle down to get their school work completed and this is very understandable. Please keep encouraging them to do as much as they can and to read every day. Alternatively if the children have a specific area of interest, they could read, write or draw about it. Any project work, art work or written pieces the children are working on can be put on the school website by emailing it to [email protected]. The children might enjoy seeing their own work on the website and to know their friends can see it too. If you have any questions about any of the work or would like any additional support don’t hesitate to send an email.
Kind regards and continued safe wishes,

5th of May 2020 - 8th of May 2020
Dear Parents,
I hope this note finds you safe and well. As you all know schools will not re-open until September. This seems like a very long time away and probably much longer for the children. Hopefully as things improve and we reach certain stages children will be able to interact a little more with each other and start participating in pastimes they have been missing out on while following the social distancing guidelines. We will continue to post work on the school website up until the summer holidays, answer questions and provide any additional support that is helpful for the children.
As the weeks go by and motivation for school work might lessen please try and complete as much as you can in the textbooks and most importantly encourage the children to read lots and lots. As there is another two weeks of strict restrictions encourage the children to write a note/letter or draw a picture for extended family members, I’m sure they would love to hear from them.
Holy Communion was to take place this coming Saturday and I’m sure those receiving the sacrament are very disappointed to be missing out on this lovely occasion. Please ensure the children that Holy Communion will take place as soon as it is safe to do so. We will await further instructions from the diocese of Cork and Ross. Please find attached a letter from Bishop Fintan Gavin for families as well as The First Holy Communion children.
This week I have included a few practical ideas for the children to do. Please find attached some STEM activities, a few recipes and some planting/gardening ideas.
As always the work for the week is just a guide, only complete as much as is possible for you and your child. As Monday is a bank holiday I have not assigned any work. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at the email [email protected] if you have any questions or the children would like any feedback on their work.
Kind regards and continued safe wishes,
Ann Marie Daly

Dear Parents,
I hope that you and your families are safe and well after the week. As always this week’s work is just a guide, only do as much as possible for you and your child.
I hope that all the children are managing ok with the work. I would be very happy to receive any completed work to have a look over and give some feedback. The easiest way might be taking a picture of the work and emailing it on to [email protected].
I’m sure the children are also working on lots of creative projects/artwork. It would be great to see what wonderful pieces they have created; if possible parents could send on photos to the email address above.
Please make contact if you would like any additional work/support for your child.
Kind regards and continued safe wishes,
Ann Marie Daly

Dear Parents,
I hope you and your families are all safe and well. I’ve attached work for the week of the 31st of March. It is again just a guideline for you to follow. Please only complete as much as is possible for you and your child.
I have included some websites for you to visit but I understand that not every child will have easy access to a laptop/computer and internet throughout the day. These websites are just to aid your child’s learning, reading and writing using their textbooks will be of greatest benefit to them.
As children complete their work every day, it is important that they have small breaks in between. Here are a few ideas: A 5minute play outside, some stretches, helping out with a chore, playing a board game, 10 jumping jacks, etc
Children will have lots of spare time over the coming weeks so I encourage them to get creative, draw, build, paint and make projects on a topic of interest to them. It would be great to document any creative work with photos that could be glued into a scrapbook/copybook. The children would all be delighted to look at each other’s work when we all return to school.
As always getting out and about for play, some physical activity or helping with some chores will benefit the children greatly. I would encourage older brothers and sisters to help out their younger siblings too, even by listening to them read daily.
It might also be a nice exercise for your child to keep a diary each day to document what activities they did during their time off. Children/parents could also record any work completed into homework journals on a daily basis which would give the children a sense of achievement.
If you have any queries during the week regarding your child’s learning or the list of work please don’t hesitate in contacting me at the email [email protected].
Wishing you all continued good health,
Kind Regards,
Ann Marie Daly
