The boys and girls of Drinagh NS are giving the gift of hope this Christmas by donating their shoe boxes to the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal. These shoe boxes help to make Christmas a special one for the boys and girls who are not as fortunate as we are.
Have a look at all the spooky and spectacular photos of all the boys and girls of Drinagh NS for the Halloween dress up day. We even had an appearance of a juggling clown for one day only! We hope you had an enjoyable mid-term break and we are looking forward to the next two months which are always a lovely one in the lead up to Christmas.
Maths week always proves to be a very popular one. The boys and girls enjoyed a variety of maths related activities indoors and outdoors (when the weather was on our side!). We played a variety of maths games, learned how to tell time in a variety of inventive ways, went on a colour hunt. The junior and senior infants made 2D shapes with their bodies and didn't they do a fantastic job.
As always Soup Day was a big hit with the boys and girls. A big thank you to Mrs O' Mahony for preparing such a delicious and nutritious treat for us and to 6th class for doing a great job serving the soup to all the boys and girls and of course doing the clean up too.
From learning to waltz to a very cute little monkey bringing Fairtrade bananas to Drinagh NS, 1st, 2nd and 3rd class have been enjoying lots of really fun lessons with Ms Connolly this term.
As France are hosting the Rugby World Cup, the senior classes were learning about all things French. We tasted a variety of French food and we all agreed that French cuisine is a delicious one.
The senior room spent a lovely Friday morning in Drimoleague hall singing along with the wonderfully talented John Spillane and their peers from the other schools in the parish. There were rousing renditions of the Rattlin Bog and Whiskey in the Jar. A big thank you to John and the organisers of the Drimoleague Singing Festival for inviting us.
The students and staff of Drinagh NS would like to wish Tadhg all the very best in his retirement. We could always depend on him to give us a helping hand here in Drinagh NS. Thank you Tadhg for all the wonderful years of service and dedication to the job.
