Boys and girls from 3rd and 4th class took part in the FAI Futsol Competition. It took place in Saile Sports centre in Kinsale. The team did very well and were unlucky to lose out in the semi Final. We are very thankful of Mike and Eileen Coakley Plant Hire for their sponsorship of food in Billies after the tournament. It went down a treat with all the kids! We are also very appreciative to Robbie McQueen and JJ Hurley from Drinagh Rangers who managed the team on the day.
4th, 5th and 6th Class got the opportunity to travel to Inchydoney beach and try an orienteering course. Well done to every team who completed the two courses on offer. Congratulations to Kenny & Ryan who completed the 6th class course in the quickest time and to Emma and Laura who completed the 5th class course in the quickest time.
On Thursday, the senior room tested their map reading skills by trying some orienteering around the school grounds, organised by Ms. Perkins. It was great practice for their orienteering event in Inchydoney next Tuesday. Ms Daly took the middle room for some active PE fun and games. While 1st Class got to help make smoothies for all the school.
On Wednesday the children walked to school in the morning. Throughout the day they got to learn all about healthy fruit and got the chance to taste all the different types of fruit that was provided.
The Drimoleague Singing Festival is a weekend long celebration of the human voice featuring the best in Irish and international talent in the heart of West Cork.
We were delighted to have children from our 4th, 5th and 6th classes be part of the closing concert with Cara O'Sullivan and the Cork Garda Male Voice Choir as part of the Drimoleague Singing Festival Children’s Choir. Their performance was conducted by Peter Stobart who spent three sessions with the children practicing on the lead up to the event.
